**This summer as you know is Canada’s 150th birthday. I wanted to bring your attention to what’s happening right here in Durham Region for the celebrations. Durham Tourism will be launching the www.durham150.ca website on June 7th at a special event in Regional Headquarters. The website will highlight all tourism-related Canada 150 events and initiatives that are taking place in Durham Region in celebration of Canada’s 150th . Below is a guest post from Durham150.ca about a farming initiative to track farming families in Durham Region.**

Are you from a long line of farming families, spanning five generations, here in Durham Region? Durham Farm Connections wants to hear from you.

To celebrate Canada 150, Durham Farm Connections is identifying families who have been farming continually in Canada since 1867, and are still farming in Durham. This can span up to five generations!

If this is you and your family, be sure to complete the Durham Region Farm Families 1867 to 2017 form, and submit it for an opportunity to be recognized at the Durham Farm Connections Celebrate Agriculture Gala event on Thursday, October 26. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting event!
