Calling all Musicians!

The City of Oshawa is accepting applications from musicians for the summer concert series. Applicants can apply for Summer in the City (formerly Concerts in the Park) and/or Canada Day, and may be considered for other City events that have musical entertainment.  Applications will be accepted until March 15, 2022. Visit oshawa.ca/things-to-do/summer-in-the-city.asp for the application form. The City of Oshawa is accepting applications for volunteer positions on the Cultural Leadership Council and the Public Art Task Force until February 18, 2022.

Both committees support the steering and development of arts and culture initiatives across the city:

  • The Cultural Leadership Council (C.L.C.) helps to implement Culture Counts: Oshawa’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Plan by leading and collaborating on initiatives, strategies, and action items.

  • The Public Art Task Force (P.A.T.F.) supports the Public Art Master Plan while advising on public art policies and priorities, reviewing public art donations, and making recommendations on juried public art competitions.

The committees are looking for representatives from local cultural organizations and businesses, creative entrepreneurs, artists from all disciplines, and community members. Selected volunteers will serve as a resource to City staff, attend meetings, participate in local cultural events and initiatives and share public feedback on cultural activities and outputs from the City. Meetings will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month for the two year committee term. Applications are available online on the C.L.C. webpage, the P.A.T.F. webpage, or by emailing culturecounts@oshawa.ca and will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., February 18, 2022.
