There is nothing worse than looking forward to your holiday for weeks and weeks and then when it is finally here you get sick. Chances are, you probably picked up a bug on the flight to your destination. Here are my top 3 tips to staying healthy on a flight.

Keep hydrated.

Flying causes you to become dehydrated and so drinking plenty of water will help to counteract this and it will also strengthen your ability to fight off bugs. If I do not drink enough water, I quickly get a dehydration headache.

Take some vitamins.

I have heard time and time again that taking vitamins prevents you from getting sick. Although there may not be a lot of evidence to suggest that this is completely true, they have found that taking vitamin C will reduce the severity and duration of a cold. Many people accredit taking vitamins to why they don’t get sick on planes and so it seems like a worthwhile precaution to take!

Wash your hands.

This may seem like a no-brainer and something you would do anyway. However, I recommend that you take this a step further and wash your hands even more often than you normally would. I suggest taking hand sanitizer as getting out of your seat constantly to wash your hands is not practical. Remember to ensure your hand sanitizer complies with the latest carry-on rules for liquids and gels.
