The City of Pickering Community Services Department, in collaboration with the Pickering Public Library, is looking to update the dedicated youth space at George Ashe Library and Community Centre. To help determine the programs, services and use of the space, youth are being asked for their feedback. The goal is to update existing space to create an environment that is welcoming and inclusive; one that suits the needs and wants of youth in Pickering.

Community consultations are now underway. Youth are encouraged to share their input and valuable insights. Don’t miss the opportunity to have your say! Visit letstalkpickering.ca/recreation today to share feedback and provide suggestions for the design and program implementation for the space. The Survey is available until August 31, 2023.

The City of Pickering is a Youth Friendly Community, as designated by Play Works, a partnership through Parks & Recreation Ontario. They offer year-round free teen programs, events, and activities. Their registered programs feature knowledgeable instructors, all designed to provide entertainment, enrichment and connection among youth in the community.

Pickering Public Library is committed to supporting safe spaces for local youth, particularly spaces where youth can experience a sense of belonging, and foster personal growth. The Library is dedicated to partnerships that cultivate positive community connections, spark curiosity and creativity, and increase equitable access to sought-after resources.
